During Sunday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early gains of EGP 2.47 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 363.761 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 10:52 a.m. Cairo time (08:52 GMT).
The main index, EGX30 surged by 0.96% to hit 5265.47 p. EGX20 soared by 1.46% to reach 6173.03 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 jumped 1.07% to hit 477.27 p. Price index EGX100 climbed by 0.88% to reach 813.27 p.
Traded volume reached 8.401 million securities worth EGP 23.366 million, exchanged 1.357 transactions.
This was after trading in 100 listed securities; 8 declined 88 advanced while 4 keeping their previous levels.
The main reason behind EGX30’s early upwards was that the Egyptians were net buyers seizing 82.13% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.166 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 9.87% and 8% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.877 million and EGP 1.288 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective early upwards led by the shares of Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which soared by 8.8.62% to hit EGP 0.63.
EFG-Hermes Holding:
Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) jumped 1.98% to reach EGP 11.85.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) surged by 1.75% to hit EGP 4.65.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) rose by 1.27% to reach EGP 3.20.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went up by 1.12% to hit EGP 3.61.
Commercial International Bank:
The shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) inched higher by 0.49% to hit EGP 29.00.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) rose by 0.11% to reach EGP 276.00.
