The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has managed to post midday gains of around EGP 141 million on Wednesday.
The capital market has amounted to EGP 356.736 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 13:17 p.m. Cairo time (11:17 GMT) during Wednesday’s midday session.
The EGX indices were mixed during the midday session.
Benchmark EGX30 tumbled by 0.21% to 5146.19 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.35% to 5955.59 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched up by 0.14% to 446.4 p. Price index EGX100 declined by 0.01% to 744.37 p.
During Wednesday’s midday session, the trading volume has reached 52.132 million securities worth EGP 216.742 million, exchanged through 11.567 transactions.
This was after trading in 153 listed securities; 38 declined, 77 advanced; while 38 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs’ buying transactions have backed EGX’s midday gains as they were net buyers seizing 62.53% and 8.98% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 18.723 million and EGP 13.801 million, excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners’ were net sellers seizing 28.5% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 32.524 million excluding the deals.
