EGX announces adjusted trading hours for Ramadan

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has announced revised trading hours for the Holy Month of Ramadan, adjusting market sessions to accommodate shorter working days.

Main Market and SMEs Market Hours

  • Trading will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • A discovery session will begin at 9:30 AM.

Closing Auction and Adjustments

  • The closing auction starts at 1:15 PM and lasts for 10 minutes, closing randomly between 1:23 PM and 1:25 PM.
  • An adjustment period will follow until 1:25 PM.
  • A trading session based on the closing price will run from 1:25 PM to 1:30 PM.

Deals Market and Omnibus Accounts

  • Orders for volume transactions in the Deals Market can be recorded from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM.
  • Omnibus accounts processing will take place from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.

Trading Sessions for Non-Listed Securities (OTC Market)

  • The Orders Market (OTC) will operate on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • The Deals Market (OTC) will run from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

These adjusted hours will be in effect throughout Ramadan, with normal trading schedules expected to resume after the holiday.
