Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the green area on Sunday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, jumped by 2.54 per cent, to 41,211.27 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, climbed by 2.60 per cent to 4,332.61 points.
- The index EGX35-LV rose by 1.65 per cent to 4,492.83 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, advanced by 0.41 per cent to 12,196.54 points.
- The EGX100 index went up by 0.67 per cent, to 16,267.33 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,925,325,331,683 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 651,821,417 pounds and 9,522,472 pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Arabs were net buyers with a total of 661,343,889 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Macro Group Pharmaceuticals -Macro Capital surged by 19.94 per cent, closing at 0.848 pounds per share.
- The shares of Arab Co. for Asset Management And Development rose by 18.73 per cent reaching 1.160 pounds per share.
- The shares of Telecom Egypt went up by 11.93 per cent to close at 62.680 pounds a share.
Top losers
- The shares of Contact Financial Holding went down by 5.52 per cent to close at 4.960 pounds a share.
- The shares of Misr Beni Suef Cement dropped by 5.51 per cent to close at 250.010 pounds a share.
- The shares of The United Bank sank by 5.05 per cent, to close at 15.980 pounds a share.
