EGX closes in green area on August 7

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in green area on Wednesday. The main index, EGX30 went up by 1.48 per cent, to 28,628.19 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33, jumped by 1.38 per cent, to 2,735.31 on launch day.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 surged by 2.39 per cent, to 6,507.9 points.

The index, EGX100 index climbed by 2.10 per cent, to 9,331.3 points.

The total market cap reached 1,954,875,812,154 Egyptian pounds.

The Arabs and Non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers with a total of 4,965,674,913 Egyptian pound and 31,356,800,080 Egyptian pound, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptians were net buyers with total of 36,322,474,993 Egyptian pound.

Top gainers on Wednesday

  1. The shares of Ceramic & Porcelain (PRCL.CA) rose by 19.81 per cent, to close at the price of 11.310 Egyptian pound a share.
  2. The shares of Misr Cement (Qena) (MCQE.CA) climbed by 13.44 per cent, to trade at the price of 20.170 Egyptian pound a share.
  3. The shares of Ezz Steel (ESRS.CA)  jumped by 11.79 per cent, to the purchasing price of 95.020 Egyptian pound a share.

Top losers on Wednesday

  1. The shares of Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment (ANFI.CA) fell by 12.36 per cent, to close at 7.800 Egyptian pound a share.
  2. The shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals (MPCI.CA) declined by 8.25 per cent, to close at 36.610 Egyptian pound a share.
  3. The shares of Rights Issue Of Memphis Pharmaceuticals &Chemical Industries (MPCI_r1.CA) dropped by 7.99 per cent, to close at the price of 17.970 Egyptian pound a share.
