EGX closes in green area on March 3rd

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Monday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 0.42 per cent to 30,988.51 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 increased by 0.18 per cent to 3,304.82 points.

The SMEs index, EGX70 rose by 0.16 per cent, to 8,645.33 points.

The index, EGX100 index added 0.27 per cent, to 11,967.75 points.

The total market capitalisation reached 2,288,341,128,574 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs were net buyers with 51,857,535 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 35,957,705 Egyptian pounds and 15,899,830 Egyptian pounds, respectively.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of South Cairo and Giza Mills and Bakeries (SCFM.CA) jumped by 19.99 per cent to close at the price of 124.650 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Industrial and Engineering Projects (IEEC.CA) climbed by 10.24 per cent, to trade at the price of 0.366 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt (AJWA.CA) soared by 10.23 per cent, to the purchasing price of 126.500 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. Shares of Lecico Egypt (LECIY.PK) plummeted by 7.88 per cent, to close at 29.820 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Delta For Printing and Packaging (DTPP.CA) dived by 6.71 per cent, to close at 72.660 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co (IDRE.CA) sank by 5.11 per cent, to close at the price of 21.540 Egyptian pounds a share.
