EGX closes in green notes on June 12

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed green on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 up by 0.20 per cent, to 26,133.39 points.

On the first day of trading, the newly-launched EGX33 Shariah Index rose by 0.54 per cent, to 2,554.88 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 surged by 2.25 per cent, to 5,868.69 points.

The index, EGX100 index hiked by 1.61 per cent, to 8,455.21 points.

The total market capitalisation stood at 1,770,259,283,018 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were buyers with a total of 478,324,443 Egyptian pounds and 434,311,492 Egyptian pounds, respectively. On the other hand, the Egyptians were net sellers with 912,635,935 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers on Wednesday

  1. The shares of M.B Engineering (MBEN.CA) jumped by 12.07 per cent to close at the price of 1.383 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Raya Contact Center (RACC.CA) climbed by 11.54 per cent to trade at the price of 5.800 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of El Ahli Investment and Development (AFDI.CA) pushed up by 11.12 per cent to the purchasing price of 24.880 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Wednesday

  1. The shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage (EBSC.CA) plunged by 16.56 per cent to close at 0.267 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Rights Issue Of Sinai Cement -2 (SCEM_r2.CA) pushed down by 4.97 per cent to close at 0.459 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of East ern Company (EAST.CA) slid by 3.74 per cent to close at the price of 18.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
