Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Tuesday, with the main index, EGX30 gaining 2.03 per cent, to 29,915.24 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 added 1.57 per cent to 2,872.27 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 surged by 0.95 per cent, to 6,821 points.
The index, EGX100 index soared by 1.13 per cent, to 9,803.33 points.
The total market cap reached 2,070,737,076,400 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 3,008,874,748 Egyptian pounds and 3,367,572,600 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, The Egyptians were net sellers with a total of 6,376,447,348 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- Shares of Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) climbed by 19.98 per cent, to close at 31.410 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Extracted Oils (ZEOT.CA) jumped by 19.81 per cent, to close at 2.540 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Atlas for Investment & Food Industries (AIFI.CA) surged by 9.04 per cent, to close at the price of 0.579 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of GMC Group for Industrial, Commercial and Financial Investments (GMCI.CA) shed 4.74 per cent, to close at the price of 0.865 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Remco for Touristic Villages Construction (MBSC.CA) slid by 4.21 per cent, to trade at the price of 3.640 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Prime Holding (PRMH.CA) inched down by 3.78 per cent, to the purchasing price of 0.585 Egyptian pounds a share.
