EGX closes in green on Sept 1st

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Sunday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 0.42 per cent, to 30,902.88 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 surged by 1.46 to 2,959.11 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 added 0.92 per cent, to 7,141.2 points.

The index, EGX100 index gained 0.95 per cent, to 10,244.91 points.

The total market capitalisation recorded 2,116,128,818,340 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians were net buyers with a total of 1,078,066,697 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 1,051,104,029 Egyptian pounds, and 26,962,667 Egyptian pounds, respectively.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment (ANFI.CA) soared by 19.34 per cent, to close at the price of 16.350 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT (SMFR.CA) climbed by 11.06 per cent, to trade at the price of 59.840 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Dice Sport & Casual Wear (DSCW.CA) jumped by 10.06 per cent, to the purchasing price of 1.860 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top fallers

  1. Shares of Alexandria Spinning & Weaving (SPINALEX) (SPIN.CA) dived by 7.29 per cent, to close at 9.410 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Misr Beni Suef Cement (MBSC.CA) sank by 6.90 per cent, to close at 39.390 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Misr Duty Free Shops (MFSC.CA) shed 5.87 per cent, to close at the price of 28.380 Egyptian pounds a share.
