EGX closes in red area on 22 Feb

Egypt’s stock market closed in the red area on Sunday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30, dropped by 2.18 per cent, to 49,560.88 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, fell by 1.99 per cent to 5,215.7 points.
  • The index EGX35-LV sank by 1.95 per cent to 5,107.07 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70, declined by 2.35 per cent to 12,427.89 points.
  • The EGX100 index slipped by 2.22 per cent to 17,409.59 points.

The total market cap reached 3,245,823,073,577 Egyptian pounds.

The Egyptians were net buyers with 85,085,431 Egyptian pounds. On the other hand, the Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with a total of 59,622,286 Egyptian pounds and 25,463,145 Egyptian pounds, respectively.

Top gainers on Sunday

  1. The shares of Minapharm Pharmaceuticals surged by 5.15 per cent, closing at 484.550 Egyptian pounds per share.
  2. The shares of Cairo Poultry rose by 4.64 per cent reaching 29.120 Egyptian pounds per share.
  3. The shares of TransOceans Tours went up by 3.33 per cent to close at 0.031 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Sunday

  1. The shares of Gogreen for Agricultural Investment went down by 7.83 per cent to close at 2.120 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of CI Capital Holding For Financial Investments dropped by 7.79 per cent to close at 10.420 per cent a share.
  3. The shares of Nozha International Hospital sank by 7.15 per cent, to close at 13.510 Egyptian pounds a share.
