EGX closes in red area on Dec. 18

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the red area on Wednesday.

The main index, EGX30 went down by 0.32 per cent, to 30,503.07 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33, sunk by 1.59 per cent, to 3,135.42 points.

The SMEs index, EGX70 fell by 1.88 per cent, to 8,419.91 points.

The index, EGX100 index dropped by 1.64 per cent, to 11,538.76 points.

The total market cap reached  2,228,031,309,912 Egyptian pounds.

The Arabs and Non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers with a total of 1,498,166,405 Egyptian pounds and 3,942,482,698 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptians were net sellers with a total of 5,440,649,103 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers on Wednesday

  1. Mohandes Insurance (MOIN.CA) shares rose by 8.52 per cent, to close at the price of 26.870 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. (CCRS.CA) shares climbed by 4.96 per cent, to trade at the price of 46.120 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. El Ahram Co. For Printing And Packing (EPPK.CA) shares jumped by 4.90 per cent, to the purchasing price of 9.210 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Wednesday

  1. Orascom Development Egypt (ORHD.CA) shares fell by 7.45 per cent, to close at 18.500 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Egyptian Gulf Marseilia For Real Estate Investment (MAAL.CA)  shares dropped by 6.31 per cent, to close at the price of 4.160 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Medical Packaging Company (MEPA.CA) shares declined by 5.67 per cent, to close at 1.330 Egyptian pounds a share.
