Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in red on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 inching down by 1.67 per cent, to 31,332.73 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, fell by 0.89 per cent, to 3,122.25 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 plummeted by 2.24 per cent, to 7,445.04 points.
The index, EGX100 index shed by 2.04 per cent, to 10,612.36 points.
Total market capitalisation recorded 2,172,015,139,632 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians were sellers with total of 1,175,213,253 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 165,441,028 Egyptian pounds and 1,009,772,224 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
- Shares of Alexandria New Medical Center (AMES.CA) soared by 11.19 per cent, to close at the price of 25.040 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Taaleem Management Services (TALM.CA) climbed by 8.92 per cent, to trade at the price of 10.500 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Arab Valves Company (ARVA.CA) jumped by 7.37 per cent, to the purchasing price of 2.040 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage (EBSC.CA) sank by 16.47 per cent, to close at 0.568 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT (SMFR.CA) dived by 12.84 per cent, to close at the price of 59.750 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical (SIPC.CA) ticked down by 12.34 per cent, to close at 1.371 Egyptian pounds a share.
