Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed lower on Tuesday, with the main index, EGX30 going down by 0.33 per cent, to 30159.15 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 fell by 0.36 per cent to 2873.94 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 plunged by 1.02 per cent, to 6988.87 points.
The index, EGX100 index fell by 0.91 per cent, to 9987.36 points.
The total market capitalisation recorded 2,046,519,314,814 Egyptian pound.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total of 2,909,841,792 Egyptian pounds and 3,400,488,431 Egyptian pounds, respectively. On the other hand, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 6,310,330,223 Egyptian pounds.
Risers
- Shares of Contact Financial Holding jumped by 20.00 per cent, to close at the price of 5.040 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Mohandes Insurance climbed by 19.98 per cent, to trade at the price of 20.540 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of October Pharma soared by 17.28 per cent, to the purchasing price of 117.280 Egyptian pounds a share.
Fallers
- Shares of Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical sank by 6.53 per cent, to close at 0.730 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Misr Cement (Qena) dived by 5.64 per cent, to close at 20.590 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage plunged by 5.44 per cent, to close at the price of 0.452 Egyptian pounds a share.
