Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mixed on Thursday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went down 1.43 per cent to 46,930.88 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, dropped by 0.63 per cent to 4,952.39 points.
- The index EGX35-LV climbed by 0.94 per cent to 5,350.54 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, jumped by 1.08 per cent, to 12,765.79 points.
- The EGX100 index leaped by 0.82 per cent, to 17,811.59 points.
The total market cap reached 3,283,647,355,907 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total of 9,147,955,407 Egyptian pounds and 173,170,114 Egyptian pounds, respectively. On the other hand, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 9,321,125,521 Egyptian pounds
Top gainers
- The shares of Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC) went up by 10.05 per cent to 19.710 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. rose by 8.09 per cent to close at 1.470 per cent a share.
- The shares of Abou Kir Fertilizers jumped by 8.05 per cent, closing at 94.000 Egyptian pounds.
Top losers
- The shares of Obour Land For Food Industries dropped by 4.76 per cent to 21.190 Egyptian pounds at closing.
- The shares of Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) fell by 4.32 per cent to close at 124.100 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Egypt Aluminum sank by 3.28 per cent, closing at 295.100 Egyptian pounds a share.
