EGX ends mixed on August 26

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed mixed on Monday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 0.20 per cent, to 30,133.81 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 lost 0.32 to 2,854.14 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 shed 0.52 per cent, to 6,943.45 points.

The index, EGX100 index dropped by 0.38 per cent, to 9,943.81 points.

The total market capitalisation recorded 2,062,071,137,359 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers with 249,104,144 Egyptian pounds, and 399,228,937 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were mainly net sellers with 648,333,081 Egyptian pounds.

Top climbers

  1. Shares of Alexandria Spinning and Weaving (SPINALEX) (SPIN.CA)  jumped by 19.97 per cent, to close at the price of 8.230 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment (ANFI.CA) climbed by 19.96 per cent, to trade at the price of 13.700 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT (SMFR.CA) gained 16.55 per cent, to the purchasing price of 57.890 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top fallers

  1. Shares of Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) sank by 8.50 per cent, to close at 30.660 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of South Valley Cement (SVCE.CA) dived by 5.84 per cent, to close at 2.900 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Ezz Steel (ESRS.CA) pushed down by 5.33 per cent, to close at the price of 97.510 Egyptian pounds a share.
