EGX ends in green on May 7 after Easter holidays

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) ended higher on Tuesday, with the main index, EGX30 inching up by 1.21 per cent, to 26429.69 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 advanced by 1.09 per cent, to 5859.87 points.

The index, EGX100 index rose by 1 per cent, to 8404.95 points.

The total market capitalisation stood at 1,781,779,314,189 Egyptian pounds.

Arab and non-Arab Foreigners’ transactions were net buyers with a total of 164,844,637 Egyptian pounds, and 78,085,126 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptians were net sellers with 242,929,763 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers on Tuesday

The shares of Asec Co for Mining – ASCOM (ASCM.CA) jumped by 14.64 per cent to close at the price of 40.870 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Taaleem Management Services soared by 14.24 per cent to trade at the price of 7.700 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of North Upper Egypt Development and Agricultural Production Co – NUDAP (NEDA.CA) climbed by 12.25 per cent to the purchasing price of 1.823 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Tuesday

The shares of Obour Land for Food Industries (OLFI.CA) dived by 10.02 per cent to close at 9.610 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries (MPCI.CA) sank by 6.02 per cent to close at 89.520 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Telecom Egypt (ETEL.CA) went down by 5.56 per cent to close at the price of 34.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
