Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in red notes on Sunday, with the main index, EGX30 plunging by 2.44 per cent, to 30,273.73 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 lost 2.33 to 2,936.87 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 pushed lower by 1.01 per cent, to 7,180.89 points.
The index, EGX100 index shed 1.34 per cent, to 10,212.71 points.
The total market capitalisation recorded 2,074,556,307,179 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs were sellers with a total of 307,203,930 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers with 182,932,332 Egyptian pounds, and 124,271,597 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top risers
- Shares of Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment (ANFI.CA) soared by 19.99 per cent, to close at the price of 23.470 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Egyptian Arabian Company Themar for Securities Brokerage SAE (EASB.CA) climbed by 19.80 per cent, to trade at the price of 3.630 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Arab Developers Holding (PORT.CA) jumped by 10.49 per cent, to the purchasing price of 0.569 Egyptian pounds a share.

- Shares of Tanmiya for Real Estate Investment (TANM.CA) fell by 7.71 per cent, to close at 3.830 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Grand Investment Capital (GRCA.CA) declined by 7.09 per cent, to close at 8.260 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of El Ezz Steel (ESRS.CA) dropped by 5.98 per cent, to close at the price of 102.010 Egyptian pounds a share.
