EGX ends mixed on Dec 16

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) ended trading in mixed notes on Monday, with the main index, EGX30 was slightly up by 0.08 per cent to 30,799.43 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 rose 0.02 per cent to 3,184.02 points.

The SMEs index, EGX70 shed by 0.35 per cent, to 8,583.98 points. 

The index, EGX100 index fell by 0.32 per cent, to 11,739.62 points.

Total market capitalisation recorded 2,260,175,076,743 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers with 6,385,215,763 Egyptian pounds and 198,265,639 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 6,583,481,402 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of El Ahli Investment and Development (AFDI.CA) jumped by 8.45 per cent to close at the price of 34.140 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Aspire Capital Holding for Financial Investments (ASPI.CA) climbed by 5.71 per cent to trade at the price of 0.296 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Lecico Egypt (LCSW.CA) rebounded by 5.25 per cent to the purchasing price of 29.290 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. Shares of Cairo Educational Services (CAED.CA) sank by 5.50 per cent, to close at 29.030 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Minapharm Pharmaceuticals (MIPH.CA) dived by 4.61 per cent, to close at 192.690 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Arab Real Estate Investment CO.-ALICO (RREI.CA) plummeted by 4.12 per cent, to close at the price of 1.860 Egyptian pounds a share.
