EGX ends mixed on Jan 28

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed mixed on Tuesday, with the main index, EGX30 going down by 0.32 per cent, to 29,646.6 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 dipped by 0.01 per cent to 3,152.17 points.

The SMEs index, EGX70 added 1.53 per cent, to 8,516.83 points.

The index, EGX100 index gained by 1.08 per cent, to 11,623.06 points.

The total market capitalisation reached 2,212,968,746,299 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with 8,692,761,245 Egyptian pounds, and 425,277,399 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 9,118,038,644 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of South Valley Cement (SVCE.CA) climbed by 20.00 per cent, to close at 5.340 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Northern Upper Egypt Development & Agricultural Production (NUDAP) (NEDA.CA) jumped by 19.91 per cent, to close at 2.650 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Mansourah Poultry (MPCO.CA) surged by 18.52 per cent, to close at the price of 1.920 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. Shares of Digitize for Investment and Technology (DGTZ.CA) declined by 5.35 per cent, to close at the price of 2.830 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Golden Pyramids Plaza (GPPL.CA) fell by 4.51 per cent, to trade at the price of 1.270 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Minapharm Pharmaceuticals (MIPH.CA) dropped by 4.45 per cent, to the purchasing price of 161.540 Egyptian pounds a share.
