EGX ends Tuesday in green; market cap gains EGP 2.7bn
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in the green zone on the back of local and Arab purchases.
The main EGX30 index rose by 0.21%, ending the mid-week session at 10,764 points.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI advanced by 1.13 percent to 1,376 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI went up by 1.01 percent to 2,146 points.
In the meantime, the equal-weighted EGX50 index increased by 0.87 percent to close at 1,663 points.
The market cap value climbed by 2.7 billion Egyptian pounds to 582.2 billion pounds.
Local and Arab investors were net buyers with 88.2 million pounds and 31.2 million pounds, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers with 119.5 million pounds.
The market’s turnover registered 1.1 billion pounds after 358.5 million shares were exchanged through around 41,500 transactions.
