Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green on Thursday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 0.21 per cent, to 29,629.14 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, gained 0.25 per cent to 2,855.75 points.
The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 added by 0.90 per cent, to 6,653.19 points.
The index, EGX100 index went up by 0.82 per cent, to 9,600.36 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,043,200,718,014 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians were net buyers with 112,868,203 Egyptian pounds of total transactions. On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with a total of 97,438,142 Egyptian pounds and 15,430,062 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
- Shares of Sinai Cement (SCEM.CA) climbed by 19.99 per cent, to close at 18.190 Egyptian pound a share.
- Shares of Misr Cement (Qena) (MCQE.CA) jumped by 11.17 per cent, to close at 22.000 Egyptian pound a share.
- Shares of South Valley Cement (SVCE.CA) surged by 6.79 per cent, to close at the price of 2.360 Egyptian pound a share.
Top losers
- Shares of E-finance for Digital and Financial Investments (EFIH.CA) declined by 6.25 per cent, to close at the price of 23.410 Egyptian pound a share.
- Shares of Tanmiya for Real Estate Investment (TANM.CA) fell by 6.21 per cent, to trade at the price of 3.020 Egyptian pound a share.
- Shares of Ismailia National Company for Food Industries (FOODICO) (INFI.CA) dropped by 5.22 per cent, to the purchasing price of 62.460 Egyptian pounds a share.
