Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the green zone on Thursday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30 surged 1.22 per cent, to 35,403 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33 advanced 0.84 per cent to 3,481.45 points.
- The index EGX35-LV added 0.44 per cent to 3,857.73 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70 rose 0.06 per cent to 10,618.95 points.
- The EGX100 index gained 0.19 per cent to 14,092.05 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,509,949,365,124 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 142,111,312 Egyptian pounds, and 9,677,252,136 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
On the other hand, Egyptians were net sellers with 9,819,363,448 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- Shares of Egyptian for Tourism Resorts jumped 8.84 per cent to 9.360 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Eastern Company climbed 7.36 per cent to 41.000 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Pyramisa Hotels jumped by 6.48 per cent to 192.900 Egyptian pounds.
To losers
- Shares of South Cairo, Giza Mills, and Bakeries dived 7.04 per cent to 115.870 Egyptian pounds at closing.
- Shares of Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation sank 6.92 per cent to 238.280 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Copper for Commercial Investment and Real Estate Development plunged 6.40 per cent, closing at 0.833 Egyptian pounds a share.
