On Tuesday’s midday session, the EGX posted gains of EGP 1.118 billion as the capital market amounted to EGP 356.013 billion.
The main index, EGX30 inched up 0.29% to reach 5042.52 p. EGX20 climbed 0.06% to reach 5869.73 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went down 0.04% to reach 432.85 p. Price index EGX100 rose 0.10% to reach 788.92 p.
Traded volume reached million 29.930 million securities worth EGP 137.828 million, exchanged through 6.798 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 138 listed securities; 54 declined and 51 advanced while 33 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 69.23% and 9.53% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 12.771 million and EGP 6.351 million, excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 21.24%, with a net equity of EGP 19.122 million, excluding the deals.
EGX’s leading shares have recorded unsteady performance, Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE) rose 0.92% to reach EGP 3.28. Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC) went up 0.80% to hit EGP 282.32. Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI) climbed 0.12% to reach EGP 26.
On the other hand, EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO) slumped 1.30% to reach EGP 13.67. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT) edged down 0.71% to hit EGP 1.39.
