EGX Gains Tripled to EGP 4 Bln; Midday

On Sunday’s midday session, the EGX extended its gains to reach EGP 4.36 billion as the capital market amounted to EGP 348.546 billion at 10:40 GMT (12:40 pm in Cairo).

The main index, EGX30 soared 1.60% to reach 4783.38 p. EGX20 jumped 2.03% to reach 5576.62 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 climbed 2.45% to reach 441.58 p. Price index EGX100 surged 2.01% to reach 771.01 p.

Traded volume reached million 40.338 securities worth EGP 130.198 million, exchanged through 10.569 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 136 listed securities; 4 down and 125 up while 7 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 83.76% and 7.18% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 11.412 million and EGP 1.473 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 9.06%, with a net equity of EGP 12.885 million, excluding the deals.
