On Wednesday closing, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) posted mild losses of EGP 30 million the capital market has reached EGP 335.104 billion.
The main index, EGX30 rebounded 0.35% to close at 4628.48 p. EGX20 edged up 0.83% to end at 5325.84 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched lower 0.55% to finish at 417.88 p. Price index EGX100 surged 2.73% to conclude at 713.81 p.
Traded volume reached 132.944 million securities worth EGP 397.628 million, exchanged through 22.233 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 178 listed securities; 107 declined and 58 advanced while 13 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 89.74% and 2.69% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 8.538 million and EGP 15.927 million excluding the deals
Non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 7.56% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 24.465 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance as the shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) climbed 2.11% to end at EGP 1.45. Shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) soared 1.42% to close at EGP 25.79. Shares owned by Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) edged up 0.12% to conclude at EGP 245.05.
On the other hand, shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) slumped 1.95% to end at EGP 3.01. Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) plummeted 1.56% to close at EGP 10.12.
