EGX reports indices, trading value rise in August ’25

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) reported that the benchmark index EGX30 closed at 35,148.14 points in August 2025, up 2.78 per cent. The EGX70 EWI rose 5.03 per cent, ending the period at 10,739.25 points.

The monthly report showed that the EGX100 EWI gained 3.3 per cent to 14,263.12 points, while the Sharia index EGX33 increased 0.85 per cent to 3,525.78 points. The EGX30 Capped index also advanced 2.82 per cent, reaching 43,208.07 points.

Egypt bourse’s market capitalisation rose to 2,463.0 billion Egyptian pounds, marking a 2.65 per cent increase during the same period.

Total value traded in August amounted to about 1,532.5 billion Egyptian pounds, while total volume traded reached 32,253 million securities executed through 2,531 thousand transactions in August. This compares with 1,731.6 billion pounds in total value traded while total volume traded reached 35,523 million securities through 2,261 thousand transactions in July.
Stocks trading represented 7.59 per cent of the total value traded of the main market, while bonds and treasury bills accounted for about 92.41 per cent.
