EGX starts week in mixed notes on Sept. 21

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in mixed notes on Sunday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30 fell 0.44 per cent to 35,247.04 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33 gained 0.31 per cent to 3,492.14 points.
  • The index EGX35-LV inched down 0.26 per cent to 3,847.71 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70 lost 0.77 per cent to 10,537.39 points.
  • The EGX100 index dropped 0.55 per cent to 1,4013.9 points.

The total market capitalisation reached 2,498,674,943,154 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 1,271,486 pounds and  16,886,823 pounds, respectively.

Meanwhile, Arabs were net sellers with 18,158,309 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of El National Housing for Professional Syndicates jumped 14.18 per cent to 81.500 pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Gogreen for Agricultural Investment climbed 10.58 per cent to 1.150 pounds per share.
  3. Shares of Iron and Steel for Mines and Quarries soared 6.40 per cent to 6.480 pounds per share.

Top losers

  1. Shares of Creast Mark for Contracting and Real Estate Development plunged 14.50 per cent to 0.625 pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Cairo Educational Services dived 10.90 per cent to 52.070 pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Premium HealthCare Group sank 7.96 per cent to 0.104 pounds a share.
