Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, convened a meeting with a delegation from Abbott Laboratories on the sidelines of Arab Health 2025 from 27-30 January in Dubai to discuss expanding co-operation in medical diagnostics and healthcare solutions, a Cabinet statement said on Wednesday.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to provide advanced diagnostic tools for early disease detection and monitoring, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and infectious diseases.
Discussions also covered collaboration on laboratory equipment development and training programmes to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals in using Abbott’s medical devices.
Additionally, the two sides explored joint strategies to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates. Abdel Ghaffar highlighted Abbott’s key role in Egypt’s national campaigns for early detection of diabetes and hypertension.
