Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Rania Al-Mashat, held a meeting with Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) Mohamed Saif Al-Suwaidi to review ongoing cooperation and discuss future projects, according to a Cabinet statement.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai, centred on expanding joint efforts to enhance economic diplomacy for development financing, focusing on renewable energy, technology, agriculture, the green economy, and private sector partnerships in seawater desalination.
They also discussed an upcoming ADFD delegation visit to Egypt to explore future bilateral relations and potential projects.
Since 1974, ADFD has financed priority projects in Egypt across agriculture, industry, electricity, housing, roads, and agricultural development. The cooperation portfolio is valued at 4 billion Emirati dirhams ($1.1 billion), supporting 20 projects, including the Manshiyat Naser development and micro-enterprise funding.
