Egypt’s Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi has held a meeting with a delegation from SAP Egypt, led by General Manager Mohamed Sami, to follow up on the progress of implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across several state-owned holding companies.
The meeting reviewed updates on the ERP project being rolled out at the Cotton, Spinning and Weaving Holding Company, the Chemical Industries Holding Company, and the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, along with their subsidiaries. These firms are adopting SAP technology to modernise and digitise core operational systems.
The project aims to streamline and unify processes across finance, human resources, production, warehousing, procurement, and sales in a move to boost competitiveness and support Egypt’s broader industrial and economic development goals.
Minister Shimi stressed the project’s importance in developing digital infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency. He noted that the ERP system would improve transparency, oversight, and decision-making speed by providing real-time, accurate data—contributing to restructuring efforts and improving both financial and operational performance.
