Egypt Agricultural Museum open for free

Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture will soft launch the Agricultural Museum for two weeks from 16 August 2025, offering free entry from 9 am to 3 pm, the Cabinet said on Sunday

The museum, which is the world’s second oldest agricultural museum, has undergone extensive renovations with support from various local and international bodies, including the UNESCO, the statement added.

Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk, emphasised the museum’s historical importance as a testament to Egypt’s agricultural heritage. The opening supports the state’s efforts to preserve and promote the cultural legacy of the agricultural sector.

Farouk highlighted the museum’s focus on Egyptian agriculture from ancient times to the present, envisioning it as a significant cultural and tourist site for education and research, according to the statement.

The museum houses rare historical treasures, including ancient agricultural tools, historic documents, archaeological plant specimens, and specialised exhibition halls showcasing the evolution of Egyptian agriculture over time.

The complex includes eight specialised museums such as the Greek, Roman, Chinese Friendship, Scientific Collections, Royal Collections, Royal Cinema, and Heritage Library museums, the report added.
