Egypt aims to attract 4.5mln Arab tourists in 2024 – official
Egypt aims to increase its number of visitors from Arab countries to 4.5 million tourists in 2024, compared to 3.1 million tourists in 2022, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation told Asharq Bloomberg on Saturday.
Amr El Kady, CEO of the authority said that this target came in parallel with the current prosperity situation of Egyptian tourism, as seven million tourists visited the country in the first half of this year, up 43 percent year-on-year.
Egypt expects to reach 15 million tourists by the end of this year, targeting 18 million tourists in 2024 and 30 million in 2028. However, the authority will launch an international advertising campaign to promote tourism destinations during this month.
