Egypt announces public holiday for Eid al-Fitr from March 29 to April 1

Egypt’s government has declared the Eid al-Fitr holiday as paid leave from Saturday, March 29, to Tuesday, April 1, 2025, for employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, and companies in the public and public business sectors.

The decision further states that if the official sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon confirms that Monday, March 31, is the first day of Shawwal 1446 AH, the holiday will be extended until Wednesday, April 2.
