Egypt’s Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said his country had approved Ethiopia’s request to postpone tripartite talks on the use of the Nile water.
The meeting was scheduled to be held in mid August and Ethiopia asked to postpone it for a week.
Moghazi noted that the Ethiopians said they were busy with the meetings of southern Nile Basin countries and suggested to postpone the meeting for a week.
Egypt is about to send a message to Ethiopia and Sudan to hold a meeting as of August 22 and until August 24 in Khartoum, he added.
Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan formed a tripartite technical committee last year to study the possible effects of Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam.
