Egypt assigns EGP 5.7bn investments for Beheira in FY20/21
Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has allocated 5.7 billion Egyptian pounds in investments for Beheira in fiscal year 2020/2021, up by 113.6 percent year-on-year (YoY) from the allocated investments in FY19/2020.
Developmental projects in the governorate has reached 605 in the FY20/21 plan, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, said.
In addition, the number of villages that benefited from the Hayah Karima (A Decent Life) initiative amounted to 25, while the allocations directed for the initiative registered 580.5 million pounds with about 161,300 beneficiaries.
The housing and slum development sector accounted for 43.8 percent of total planned investments in Beheira with a value of 2.5 billion pounds, while the education sector made up 14.2 percent or 807,4 million pounds, the local development sector 14 percent (802 million pounds), the transportation sector 9.2 percent (525.1 million pounds), and the irrigation sector 7.1 percent (407.5 million pounds).
