Egypt prohibits all Qatari citizens from entry on coronavirus fears

Egypt has banned the entry of all Qatari citizens to the country, the Egyptian Cabinet spokesman Nader Saad announced on Monday.

The decision involves all those coming through intermediary points as well as holders of Qatar’s citizenship, effective from 6 March 2020.

The move comes as part of Egypt’s precautionary measures against the new coronavirus (COVID-19), the spokesman explained, noting that it comes after a similar decision by Qatar towards Egyptian citizens, including those who have a valid residency in the Gulf country.
