Egypt, Barcelona launch liver cancer workshop

Egypt’s Ministry of Health has organised a specialised workshop for hepatologists in collaboration with the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) group, held for the first time in Egypt, as per a statement on Thursday. The event aimed to enhance the capabilities of medical teams in the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer.

The workshop featured hands-on training, multidisciplinary case discussions, interactive sessions, and expert panels with global specialists. It formed part of ongoing cooperation with AstraZeneca Egypt to combat liver cancer and promote a more inclusive healthcare system with improved recovery rates.

The workshop marks a pivotal step in transferring international expertise, strengthening diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and reinforcing the ministry’s commitment to private sector partnerships, the statement added.
