The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday that it has received declarations of interest from six countries in the bidding process to select the host nation for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, including Egypt.
The CAF has also received notices of interest from five other countries, including Algeria, Botswana, and a joint bid from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The deadline for submitting final bids and all hosting documents is May 23, 2023.
Last year, the Minister of Sports said Egypt would not bid to host the 2025 edition to give other African countries a chance to organise the prestigious continental tournament. Egypt hosted the tournament twice before, in 2006 and 2019.
