Egypt boosts gas supply with New Fortress Energy’s FSRU
Egypt’s state-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has partnered with US energy company New Fortress Energy to deploy a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly told a press conference on Wednesday.
The FSRU will be moored at the Sumed Port in Ain Sokhna and is expected to be operational next summer. With a regasification capacity of up to 750 million cubic feet per day and a storage capacity of 160,000 cubic metres of LNG, the FSRU will help meet Egypt’s growing natural gas demand.
