Egypt, Bosnia sign labour mobility pact
Egypt’s Ministry of Labour and the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a cooperation protocol on Tuesday to enhance labour mobility, skills exchange, and workforce development between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by Hilal Mamoun, Head of the International Organisations and Agreements at the Egyptian ministry, and his Bosnian counterpart Ivan Barbalić, Director of the Bosnian agency. Egyptian Labour Minister Mohamed Gobran and Bosnia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Sabit Subašić witnessed the signing in Cairo.
The protocol aims to improve labour market data exchange, raise awareness on labour migration and migrant protection, and expand digital services for employment. It also prioritises support for women, youth, and people with disabilities, while strengthening social protection measures.
During the meeting, Gobran highlighted Egypt’s efforts to enhance vocational training programmes and produce skilled workers ready for international employment. The ministry also discussed recent job opportunities created in Bosnia for Egyptian workers, with the Bosnian delegation praising the skills and expertise of Egypt’s workforce.
“The ministry is committed to providing highly trained Egyptian labour to meet the needs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting organised employment channels and opening new international opportunities for our workforce,” Gobran said.
