Egypt, BP discuss expanding energy cooperation, investment at ADIPEC

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawy met with Murray Auchincloss, CEO of BP, on Monday on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2025 in Abu Dhabi to discuss expanding cooperation and investment in Egypt’s energy sector, the ministry said in a statement.

Badawy praised BP as a key strategic partner and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting the company’s plans to increase investment and achieve sustainable growth in its operations in the country.

Talks highlighted BP’s recent success in boosting gas production from the Raven Field in the Mediterranean, and both sides stressed the need to accelerate the development of new discoveries and improve efficiency in existing fields to strengthen Egypt’s role as a regional energy hub.

Badawy also underscored the importance of using advanced seismic survey data to guide new drilling programmes and expand production prospects, adding that the ministry remains committed to providing a supportive environment for international investors.
