Egypt c. bank: Women financial inclusion up to 63.4% in June ’24

The number of Egyptian women with transaction accounts reached 20.8 million in June 2024, representing 63.4 per cent, an increase from 62.7 per cent in December 2023, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) report.

This growth stems from CBE’s initiatives, in collaboration with the National Council for Women (NCW) and the Ministry of Social Solidarity, focused on enhancing women’s financial inclusion.

The CBE’s efforts, supported by various government bodies, aim to expand access to banking services for women, young people, people with disabilities, and entrepreneurs through regulatory support, tailored products, and widespread financial literacy programmes.
