Egypt captures lion’s share of Saudi QMP’s ’23 exports
Egypt has been the most important destination for Saudi Qimam Masia Plastic’s (QMP) exports in 2023, a senior official said on the sidelines of PLASTEX 2024 exhibition, which took place in Cairo.
Monzer Derany, a sales official at QMP, told Amwal Al Ghad English that the company exports around 3,000 tonnes to Egypt per month and 40,000 tonnes per year.
“Egypt captures a market share of 60 per cent of QMP’s exports … This means Egypt is the biggest market for us.” Derany stated.
QMP is a Riyadh-based company that manufactures and processes plastic granules, colorants and additives. It also manufactures plastic parts for plumbing tools from manhole covers, conversions and, where the company adds improvers to raw materials according to the customer’s colour preferences or improvers to be presented as a final product for manufacturing. It has raw materials from some international companies.
In addition to Egypt, QMP has strong presence in several Arab markets, including Algeria, Libya, Syria, Sudan, and Yemen.
The 19th edition of PLASTEX 2024, the largest plastics and rubber exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa, took place in Cairo at the Egypt International Exhibitions Centre (EIEC) during the period from 9-12 January.
