Egypt, China’s Anton Oilfield to develop clean energy from flare gas

Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese oilfield services provider Anton Oilfield Services Group to advance flare gas recovery and expand renewable energy generation.

Signed on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025) on Wednesday, the agreement aligns with the ministry’s strategy to cut emissions and promote low-carbon energy solutions.

The collaboration will focus on capacity building, feasibility studies, and implementing projects that recover flare gas for economic use while reducing environmental impact. It will also support renewable energy deployment at petroleum and gas facilities, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.

As part of the initiative, suitable sites within petroleum companies will be identified for pilot projects, reinforcing Egypt’s commitment to sustainable energy development.
