Egypt clears EGP 1b in overdue pharmaceutical dues today – minister
The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA) has on Tuesday just disbursed 1 billion Egyptian pounds in outstanding dues to pharmaceutical companies, according to Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
Speaking at a working dinner hosted by the Egyptian-British Business Association (BEBA), Minister Abdel Ghaffar reiterated the UPA’s dedication to timely payments and its ongoing efforts to clear all remaining debts. He also highlighted the Ministry of Finance’s recent allocation of 14 billion pounds to the UPA within a single month to further expedite these payments.
The move highlights the Egyptian authorities’ ongoing efforts to strengthen the local healthcare supply chain and ensure uninterrupted access to essential medicines.
