Egypt on Sunday condemned the attacks on Zamzam camp for internally displaced persons in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state.
In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced what it described as gross violations of international humanitarian law that led to the killing of Sudanese civilians and staff from an international relief organisation.
The statement stressed the need to ensure that humanitarian workers are not targeted under any circumstances and extended Egypt’s sincere condolences to the Sudanese people and the families of the victims.
Egypt reiterated its firm and longstanding support for the Sudan, its national institutions, and its stability, while underscoring the importance of respecting the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the country.
