Egypt connects over 1m households to natural gas grid every year, minister
The Egyptian government is connecting more than 1 million households to the natural gas network every year, according to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla.
The total number of residential units linked to the natural gas grid reached about 11.3 million, El-Molla added in a statement.
The ministry is planning to deliver natural gas to more areas with intensive use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in a bid to make the best use of natural gas resources and reduce imports of LPG.
Currently, Town Gas, affiliated to the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), is working on supplying residential units in Abou El-Nomros area with natural gas.
