Egypt coronavirus cases pass 7,000, records highest single-day number of infections

Egypt recorded 388 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, its highest in a single day, taking the toll to 7,201.

In a statement, the health ministry said 16 new deaths took the tally of virus fatalities to 452. But 98 more patients, including one foreigner, recovered and have been discharged from quarantine hospitals, for a total of 1,730 recoveries, the statement added.
