Egypt courts Türkiye’s Abdi Ibrahim for pharma investment
Egypt’s Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Thursday with executives from Turkish pharmaceuticals company Abdi Ibrahim to discuss potential investment and cooperation in Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector.
The talks, which included CEO Süha Taşpolatoğlu, focused on expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt, transferring technology and exploring investment opportunities in the country’s drug sector, according to a statement from the Health Ministry.
Abdel Ghaffar invited the delegation to visit Gypto Pharma to review the facility’s production capabilities, part of Egypt’s push to attract international partners and strengthen domestic drug manufacturing.
The talks also covered improving access to innovative medicines in key therapeutic areas and establishing longer-term partnerships aimed at expanding healthcare services and pharmaceutical supply.
