Egypt cuts 92-, 95-octane petrol prices by 3.2% to ease coronavirus impact
Egypt has on Friday cut the pump price for 92-octane petrol by 3.2 percent in a bid to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
The new prices will be effective from 8:00am Saturday, 11 April, according to a statement by the ministry of petroleum.
The retail price 95-octane petrol will also be cut by 3.2 percent, it said.
The new prices include 7.50 Egyptian pounds ($0.48) per litre for 92-octane petrol, down from 7.75 pounds, in addition to 6.25 pounds per litre for 80-octane petrol from 6.5 pounds, and 8.50 pounds per litre for 95-octane petrol from 8.75 pounds.
